LEAK DETECTION

Pool Hyper does a series of highly technological and advanced leak detection tests to determine if and where the pool is leaking. With a range of systematic steps, leak problems are identified and eliminated through the process. Leak Detech can then determine exactly where the swimming pool leak is.

Is your swimming pool leaking and wasting water? Do you need a reputable leak detection specialist to locate the leak and get rid of your pool leak problems? Leak Detech can help you!

Complete this form and we will call you right away to schedule a Leak Detection Test.

LET’S SAVE YOU MONEY

But first, we need to determine if your swimming pool is really leaking or not. For this we do the “Bucket Test”. The Bucket Test must be done by yourself before arranging a call-out with Leak Detech, to confirm if your swimming pool has a leak or not.

Test it out yourself first

If Leak Detech tests your swimming pool and no leaks are found, no refund will be given, thus the client must be sure that there is a definite leak by doing one of our suggested tests.

THE PRESSURE TEST

As soon as Leak Detech arrives on site, a “Pressure Test” is done to determine if the pipes leak. Regardless of the suspected location of the problem, a pressure test of all plumbing lines should be done to confirm whether the leak is in the plumbing or the structure (shell) of the pool. Using the process of elimination, pressure testing allows you to conclusively isolate which part of the pool is leaking so later location procedures can be efficiently targeted.

THE INLET OUTLET TEST

Leak Detech plugs the inlets and outlets to search for further leak problems.

THE GAS TEST

If a leaking section of plumbing is identified, add a constant flow of air from a regulated air source into the line. As this air escapes into water-saturated soil it will make a distinctive bubbling sound that can be pinpointed through the pool deck or soil with an electronic listening device. In most cases, this process will enable the location of hidden underground leaks so that repairs can be made with minimal excavation. In situations where this noise cannot be created a Gas Sniffer can be used to locate the presence of a tracer gas escaping from the leak.

THE HYDROPHONE TEST

If a leaking section of plumbing is identified, add a constant flow of air from a regulated air source into the line. As this air escapes into water-saturated soil it will make a distinctive bubbling sound that can be pinpointed through the pool deck or soil with an electronic listening device. In most cases, this process will enable the location of hidden underground leaks so that repairs can be made with minimal excavation. In situations where this noise cannot be created a Gas Sniffer can be used to locate the presence of a tracer gas escaping from the leak.

THE DYE TEST

Using a Dye Tester, a small amount of dye near suspected leak areas in the structure of the pool detects if the dye is pulled out of the pool. Check skimmers, return fittings, lights, cracks, main drains, and hydrostatic valves.
